This Baodi is constructed between 17th and 18th centuries by cutting and wrapping the large rocks through building the decorated pillars. This Baodi has ten pillars over the ground floor, under which, visitors can find the verandahs created for the light decorative rooms. There are two sculptures carved on the entrance door of the Baodi (4 armed Shiva as well as his wife Ambika who holds Sriphal). These are said to be of the 16th century. After the rule of the Haiheya rulers of Balaghat, Hatta moved from the Gonds to the Marathas and thereafter went under Bhonsles. Hence, the art and decors made to the pillars vary in their styles. This Baodi was constructed as a water source, as well as made for the soldiers for the purpose of protecting themselves from enemies, and also to take rest whenever they wish. The records say that, during the reign of Bhonsles, some of the armies of Samantas hide here.
